Martelli Adeka’s life story is one of resilience, determination, and an unwavering commitment to helping others. Born and raised in the small town called Saint Louis Du Nord, Haiti, Martelli’s childhood was filled with curiosity and a passion for learning. From a young age, he found joy in the simple pleasures of life—crafting his own toys, nurturing a garden, and flying kites in the summer. Raised by his mother and great-grandmother, “Grann Mana,” who was a successful entrepreneur, Martelli was inspired by the strong work ethic and entrepreneurial spirit that surrounded him. By age nine, he was already selling produce from his garden to neighbors, and by 13, he had built and operated a small movie theater, a testament to his early understanding of business and community needs.
A New Beginning in the United States: Overcoming Challenges with Determination
In 2008, Martelli’s life took a dramatic turn when he moved to the United States at the age of 17. The transition was challenging; he faced culture shock, a new language, and the daunting task of building a life from scratch. But Martelli’s yearning for life never wavered. He immersed himself in learning English, attending high school and eventually graduating from Plantation High School in Florida. He continued his education and went on to college, while simultaneously beginning his career in the insurance industry.
Turning Tragedy into Purpose: The Birth of a Financial Vision
Martelli’s journey was marked by both personal and professional growth, but it was also touched by tragedy. The sudden passing of his father in 2016, who had no life insurance or financial planning in place, left the family in a difficult financial position. This heartbreaking experience fueled Martelli’s passion for financial planning and his desire to prevent others from experiencing similar hardships.

In 2021, amid the global pandemic, Martelli and his wife, Rachel, founded Kaizen Family Financial Consultants. Their vision was clear: to provide families with the tools and knowledge necessary for financial security. With nearly a decade of experience in life, health, property and casualty insurance, as well as investment services, Martelli was well-equipped to guide others through the complexities of financial planning. Kaizen Family Financial Consultants was born out of a deep understanding of the struggles that families face and a commitment to helping them build secure and prosperous futures.

However, the path to success was not without its challenges. Kaizen faced significant hurdles, including financial mistakes that led to the brink of foreclosure on their personal home. Yet, Martelli resolve remained steadfast. Him and his wife fought to keep their home, seeing it as a symbol of their commitment to their family and their mission. The experience reminded Martelli of the early days of building his movie theater in Haiti, where fear of failure was overshadowed by his determination to succeed.
